From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of N533JW was on final approach to runway 18 at starke county airport in Knox, Indiana (koxi). The pilot stated that he reduced the power to idle while on final approach. The pilot stated that, shortly thereafter, he was getting too low on approach and attempted to add power to make the runway. The engine did not respond to the added throttle and appeared to have lost power. He executed a forced landing into a cornfield. Neither the pilot nor the three passengers were injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage, including damage to the landing gear, propeller, and firewall. There was no post-crash fire.
