What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot attempted to land the aircraft in a field and while descending below the tree line that surrounds the field, the aircraft began to experience an excessive sink rate. The aircraft touched down in the field, bounced into the air, and continued down the field for approximately 570 feet and stalled with the right wing impacting the ground causing the aircraft to rotate 180 degrees. The left and right main landing gear impacted the ground and were folded back against the fuselage. The aircraft continued to slide on its belly for approximately 80 feet and came to rest at a tree line on the south side of the property facing north.
The aircraft sustained minor damage to the following areas: propeller, right wing tip, trailing edge of the right aileron, tail wheel, lower rudder, and left elevator. The pilot was not injured.
