From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 30, 2018 an atlas air Boeing 747-47UF (freighter aircraft), registration number N415MC, operating as atlas air flight gti 8060 departed al maktoum international airport (dwc) jebel ali, united arab emirates (uae) and proceeded to its scheduled destination, hkg. Five persons were aboard the aircraft: four pilot crewmembers and one mechanic/loadmaster. Reported wind conditions at the time of arrival in hkg were winds from 190 degrees at 16 knots, gusting to 26 knots. After touchdown on hkg runway 25, the aircraft began to drift left of runway centerline. An aggressive right rudder input was made in an attempt to correct the leftward drift. The aggressive right rudder input caused the left wing to rise which resulted in engines number three and four (the right wing engines) contacting the runway and damaging both engine pods. Damage also occurred to main landing gear tires. No injuries were reported
