From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 9/14/18 the flight crew returned to the field due to a bird strike causing damage to the nose of the aircraft and causing a fault to occur in the ice detection system. The flight returned to the field and landed without incident or injuries. The flight crew documented the event on logpage R488816 and notified maintenance. Maintenance inspected the aircraft and received a special ferry permit to reposition to cmh where repairs could be made. The flight was restricted from rvsm airspace and landed without incident in cmh. Maintenance mapped the damage and reported to Embraer for disposition. Embraer issued ETD2018-170-097866A and republic established visit package VP-029479-2018/1 to track the repairs. Maintenance performed sheet metal repairs to the area defined by stringer 1-4 and frames 6L-12L. The ice detector was also removed and replaced. The aircraft was recertified to operate in rvsm airspace by maintenance. Maintenance completed the amfl and returned the aircraft to service. No further action is required. This event meets the incident criteria per FAA order 8020.11D.
