From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 9/24/2018 at 0945 the pilot of N823HE decided to complete a couple touch and goes before continuing his personal flight. Upon the first touchdown, pilot had trouble maintaining directional control. In an effort to correct the aircraft from going to the right, the pilot applied left rudder. Seeing that the end of the runway was approaching the pilot applied power. The aircraft veered left in the direction of the taxiway sign. The pilot attempted to lift off but struck the sign with the left main landing gear and left wingtip made contact with the ground. Pilot immediately landed aircraft and taxied aircraft to safety to assess damage.
