From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 18, 2018 the pilot and flight instructor were practicing a high speed taxi in the PA22. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed with calm winds. The pilot was working towards his tailwheel endorsement. The aircraft reached a speed where the main tires were on the ground but the tailwheel lifted off. At this point the pilot lost control of the aircraft and ground looped it. The left main wheel buckled under the fuselage and the propeller struck the runway. The CFI did not have brake pedal controls on his side of the aircraft to help with the recovery. No injures occurred to either pilot.
