From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Brief description of event: FAA form 8020-9

Aircraft lost hydraulic pressure and landing gear did not deploy. Aircraft flew by tower to check if gear was down and gear was confirmed to be in the up position. Aircraft declared an emergejncy and landed belly up.

Pilot statement:

Damage to aircraft only, no personal injury, in gear up landing on runway 5 cae 30 December 2018. Damage is scrapes to belly, left and right rear gear doors, propellor tips, antennas on belly.

On approach to ILS runway 11, lowering gear handle did not engage pump, gear did not lower, checked circuit breaker, was in. Pulled circuit breaker and reset, cycled gear handle gear motor did not run, gear up light still on. Flew past tower and asked for visual, tower said no gear at all. Climbed to 2500 vectors from tower for time to resolve.

Checked gear fluid found none, added about 20 ounces still not on dip stick. Pulled circuit breaker, gear handle down, pumped hand pump but no resistance, continued pumping, gear up light still on. Checked dip stick nothing on, put engine oil in, dropped dip stick and could not retrieve. Still no pressure on hand pump. Put breaker in and gear lever up then down still nothing, pulled breaker, hand pumped again still no pressure.

Vectored to ILS runway 5 approach, full flaps, 80 mph on short final, pulled mixture full out at flare, prop slowed but windmilled, held off runway elevator full back as touched down.

Daughter and I evacuated without injury, emergency personnel already at plane as we exited. No fire, no exinguishers used.
