From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

When returning from his first solo cross-country the pilot entered the traffic pattern for runway 34 at kmev. The pilot stated that when he touched down, he temporarily took his feet off the rudder pedals to allow the nose gear to align with the runway. When the pilot place his feet back on the rudder pedals, the airplane started to drift to the left. The pilot tried to correct to the right; however, lost control and skidded off the runway. The propeller contacted the soft mud and aircraft came to rest upright.
