From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On February 25, 2019 aircraft registration N759GS, a Boeing 737-700 was scheduled to operate on southwest airlines (swa) flight 2169 from mccoy international airport (kmco), orlando, Florida to Hartford-Bradley International Airport (kbdl), Hartford, Connecticut. SWA2169 was told by bdl approach control (bdl) to expect runway 33. SWA2169 requested runway 24 and was given vectors to runway 24. The airplane executed an approach to runway 24 and a missed approach at 13 feet AGL due to windshear conditions and a windshear warning in the cockpit. Parts of the aircraft wings impacted the runway, right wing first followed by the left wing. The missed approach was successfully completed and the pilots then flew two more approaches to the same airport to runway 33 that also resulted in missed approaches. The flight then diverted to kpvd, theodore francis green state airport at providence, rhode island and landed. The flight was operated by southwest airlines, CO. Under title 14 code of federal regulations part 121 from kmco orlando international airport, orlando, FL. There were no serious injuries to the 146 passenger although one passenger needed assistance at kpvd and numerous passengers were ill from motion sickness. There were five working crew members on the flight. The pilots were not aware that the wings had been damaged until they arrived at kpvd and were informed by a flight attendant of suspected damage.
