From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The left brake on the aircraft failed. There was a direct tailwind to the taxiway which immediately caught the right sided of the vertical and the aircraft departed the taxiway to the right. A man was walking on the grass on the right side of the taxiway. He was walking the same direction the airman was taxiing and did not see the aircraft until it struck him in the rear. The pedestrian refused to be transported to the hospital to seek medical attention. The impact point was about 10 inches inboard of the right wingtip in the area of the landing light. The man was knocked down and the impact caused the RV-4 to spin about the right wing tip. The aircraft came to rest facing 180 degrees from the direction of taxi. The vertical fin impacted a PA-32 about mid span of the left wing leaving an approximately 2 in dent in the leading edge. The PA-32 N3476W was parked on the ramp and unoccupied. The nose of the rv came to rest under the right wing of a conventional gear Maule M-7. There was no contact between the rv and the Maule.
