From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This aircraft was enroute from 87K (el dorado springs, MO) to pts (pittsburgh, KS) when at cruise, the right engine began to run rough and lose power. Shortly after, the left engine experienced the same problem. Both engines continued to run but failed to produce thrust. The pilot determined that he did not have enough power and altitude to make it to the nearest airport and landed the aircraft in a field. During the landing, the nose landing gear collapsed resulting in damage to the forward section of the fuselage, the propellers and the engine cowling.
