From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 26MAY19 at Southern Illinois Airport (mdh) at 1335 local, N45729, s/n 2256, a 1946 Luscombe model 8A was taxing on runway 36R after touchdown, when a wind gust from the west caused the pilot to apply right rudder to correct, foot slipped off of the right rudder pedal. Pilot could not relocate the rudder pedal. Aircraft traveled to the left edge of the runway. Pilot attempted to use only the right heel brake to realign the aircraft with the runway, when pilots right heel inadvertently and unintentionally depressed both brake pedals. Aircraft went onto the nose and flipped on it top, resulting in damage to the vertical fin cap, top of cabin and windshield and propeller blades and firewall damage. Pilot received minor injury to the right hand.
