From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N5020Q was on an IFR flight plan from bessemer, Alabama to Michigan City, Indiana. The pilot of N5020Q executed the RNAV 20 approach to landing. The pilot reported selecting he landing gear down position and stated that he and the front seat passenger verified ?3-green? Landing gear down position indicators. During landing rollout, the left gear collapsed causing the left engine propeller to strike the pavement. This caused the aircraft to veer left of center and into the grass alongside the runway. During this action, the remaining landing gears collapsed, and the aircraft departed the runway. One runway light was damaged. There were no injuries to the pilot, passengers, or persons on the ground. There was no post-crash fire.
