From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a flight from mgj to avp the aircrafts engine started sputtering and the pilot made a precautionary landing in a large field without incident. The pilot determined that there were no mechanical issues with the aicraft but miscalculated the fuel burn and was almost out of fuel. He was able to get additional fuel to depart the field after getting permission from the land owner. During his takeoff roll he misjudged the takeoff distance and upon rotation the wheels struck thick weeds which brought the aircraft back to the ground and caused it to flip over.

As the FAA filed it
