From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

As stated by the pilot, the aircraft was started and warmed up before take off. The magneto and carb heat checks were normal, boost pumps were on. Set for take off on the runway the pilot applied full power and started to take off. All indications were normal and nothing sounded abnormal. Shortly after takeoff the engine quit. Pilot determined the airport was not close enough to land at. The pilot choose the closest empty road, but did not think he had time for a full gear extension and chose to leave the gear up.
