From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

As the skydiver navigated the base and final leg of her approach, no abnormal parachute function was observed. She was attempting to get past the water as she was coming up short on her landing onto the flat soft sands of the Beach. The skydiver failed to adjust her flare to compensate for the slope of the Beach. Her rate of descent did not decrease enough and she kicked her feet forward getting ready for a hard landing.

Jump conditions: clear skies, winds approximately 240 at 10 mph with some gusts. It was reported that the winds coming over the buildings along the Beach were causing turbulence as the skydivers approached the landing area.

The Beach conditions were low tide with a drop in elevation approximately 7-10 feet from the top of Beach to the water breaks.
