From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated they departed Koyuk AK en route to nome AK. While flying the PIC stated that due to flat light conditions it was difficult to make out ridgelines and the ground and decided it would be best to land and wait for better light. Prepared for landing on the sea ice. PIC stated he set up for landing on sea ice and had about approx. 30MPH cross wind. PIC stated he could make out shore line with the trees/brush on the shore. Landing with basically zero ground reference. Lined up PIC stated he put in a notch of flaps and started decent and hit the ground pretty much immediately.
