What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
A pilot of a Beech A36 was on his first approach for landing at the Big Bear airport. Just as he was touching down, a Cessna 177 aircraft taxied across the runway directly in front of his aircraft. The pilot had to swerve off the runway in order to avoid hitting the Cessna. As his aircraft departed the runway, it hit sinage and traveled in the dirt approximately 100 yards before the nose gear collapsed and the aircraft came to rest in the infield/dirt. There were four persons on board with no injuries reported and the damage to the aircraft was minor.
