From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

ATC reported aircraft landed and caught on fire. Fuselage and both engines were sprayed with fire retardant by local fire fighting unit. Investigation revealed the aircraft landed with gear stowed, found gear selector lever was in the up position. The aircraft was lifted using commercial crane, and gear was retracted without issue, then towed to Daytona aircraft services. Skid damage extended through skin into wing/fuel tank structure. The flight was crewed by a certificated pilot in the left seat undergoing a check-ride to remove SIC required by a DPE in the right seat. The approach was a no flap landing.
