From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On February 29, 2020, N1890A s/n 18-1723 a Piper PA-18 super cub was on a flight from Santa ynez airport, in California to ogilvy ranch in Santa Barbara, California. The aircraft descended for landing on the dirt strip in mountainous terrain and experienced gusty wind conditions and downdrafts. Slow airspeed on approach along with the wind conditions caused a higher than normal descent rate and the aircraft landed hard and off the runway on a steeper part of terrain. The aircraft then flipped over.
