From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

03/02/2020 Interview pilot who stated the following. Pilot and father were at the aircraft that is parked at lake hood Alaska. They had just started the airplane and were both working together to get the landing gear chocks removed from under the skis. The pilot was rocking the wing back and forth while the father was trying to kick the chock out from under the ski on the right side of the airplane. At some point the father kicked the chock from under the ski forward toward the prop and decided to retrieve the chock without considering the airplane was running and walked into the prop, injuring him severely. The pilot stated he did not see the event in real time only heard the impact from the prop and immediately shut the aircraft down and called emergency services.
