From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

As per the pilot, plane was parked at north ramp at kpdk. Did a pre-flight checklist. Fullest tank was right tank

Started the engine and got kpdk ground permission to transition to clairmont ramp (location of self serve fuel station) filled both tanks full to neck - holds 54.7 gal total. First I filled left tank, and then right tank. Listened to aits noted time 9:00AM

Got permission from kpfk ground to taxi to for a south east departure with I (india) weather. Arrived at runup area a few min later adjacent to runway 03L performed runup per my checklist again.

Called kpdk ground and announced I was done with runup.

Was given instruction to follow after a plane in line for takeoff.

When I got to hold short line, I was instructed to cross 03L and I was cleared for take off on 03R with right turn approved after take off

My take off was uneventful, and I climbed to 1500' and started right turn.

Continued to climb to 3500' and working to stay clear of atl class b

I called atlanta departure with a request, but was told to be standing by

At the time I got clear of atl class b and mode c veil, I called again to atlanta departure for flight following

Was given a squawk code, and continue VFR.

At 10 o'clock I had flown for an hour on the right tank, so I turned on my electric fuel pump.

Checked fuel pressure (in the green)

Switched to left tank

Checked fuel pressure (in the green)

Turned off electric fuel pump

Checked fuel pressure (in the green)

Continued flying for about 5 min when suddenly the engine lost power

I turned on the electric fuel pump

I turned on carburetor heat

I switched from both to right to both to left to both magnetos to see if that would help

None of these efforts returned the engine to power

Did a right 90 degree turn as I had just overflown millidgeville airport and wanted to see if I could make it back there

Checked my foreflight glide path ring to see if airport was within reach - it was not.

I called atlanta departure, and reported the engine out and the I was single soul onboard.

Started looking for a safe place to land

Aimed for the field where the plane came to rest

Extended landing gear

Extended flaps

Right before I landed I could see I would come up a little short, as my stall warning was sounding, which I why I did not clear the tree or the fence.

Plane started skidding sideways, due to the forced from hitting the tree

Came to rest about 100 yards from the tree and fence in the middle of the field

Noticed there was no fire, did not smell fuel, noticed ELT blinking, and I proceeded to get out of the airplane.

This is the events to the best of my recollections.

As the FAA filed it
