From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 21, 2020, while on final approach at kplu rnwy 35, pilot started initiating the landing procedures. Just prior to touchdown, pilot began flaring but a big wind gust got underneath his left wing and pushed the aircraft to the right. Pilot countered by giving left aileron and applying full power but the aircraft did not recover. Subsequently, the right wing hit the ground and the right landing gear hit the ground hard and broke-off and the aircraft rested on its nose. Pilot was able to exit the aircraft without any injury. PIC was the only sob.
