From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The flight originated from murfreesboro airport (mbt). The pilot flew the aircraft for approximately 1.0 hours prior to attempting to land at Smyrna Airport (mqy) on runway 32. The pilot stated that on final approach he noted that the wind had increased since taking off. Upon touch down the aircraft experienced a crosswind gust from the left side of the aircraft. The crosswind caused the aircraft to roll to the right and the right wing tip contact the ground. As the aircraft came back down from the roll the propeller struck the ground and the aircraft veered to the right off of the runway. The pilot was able to regain conttrol and bring it to a full stop.
