From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 4/29/2020 at approximatley 1000 CDT, N5381A, a Cessna CE-310-B aircraft, flown by a certificated private pilot for this type aircraft.

Pilot was flying from Mena, Arkansas (mez) to ada, aoklahoma. Upon takeoff and climb, the passenger (owner) and pilot noted that the fuel gauges were not reading a full load of fuel in each tank. While attempting to assertain the fuel issue, the aircraft electrical system started to fail, the pilot then turned back toward kmez, which was still visible. He then reset each generator, no change occurred and the ammeter continued to read zero ? No charge or discharge. He shut off the master, leveled off at 3000 feet and slowed the aircraft to about 120 mph. He turned the master on again momentarily to attempt to lower the gear normally, it was unsuccessful.

During attempt to lower gear with emergency handle, the final turning of the gear handle made popping sound and there was no more friction in the handle. The gear was oserved lowered, but could not be verified down and locked. The pilot conducted a normal controlled landing on the runway, during landing roll out the r/h gear collapsed and the aircraft skid approximatley 300 feet and came to rest just off the right side of the runway, the r/h landing gear folded, the r/h wing tip, r/h tail horizontal and r/h propeller sustained minor damage. Owner reports that the aircraft has been deemed a constructive total loss by the insurance company and will not be repairing the aircraft, and doubts anybody else will due it?s low value, age, and marketability in these present economic conditions.

Pilot and passenger sustained no injuries.
