From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 06/04/2020 at 1130 CDT, a Piper PA-28R-201T aircraft bearing registration number N533K, registered to the private owner, gear collapsed on runway during landing at Corpus Christi international airport (crp), Corpus Christi, TX. The aircraft was being operated on a part 91 flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time, and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft sustained substantial damage, and there were no injuries. The flight originated from boerne stage airfield (5C1), boerne, TX on 06/04/2020 at 1000 CDT.

Recovery crew raised aircraft with belly bands during recovery and stated landing gear control circuit breaker was discovered open. Recovery crew stated circuit breaker was reset, aircraft battery switch was then positioned to on and landing gear lowered as normal and circuit breaker remained in place for duration of towing procedure to hanger.

At NTSB request, iic traveled to crp on 06/11/2020, and observed part 145 repair station personnel perform landing gear operations in both normal and emergency mode. All three landing gear raised and lowered and circuit breaker did not open during operation.
