From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 14, 2020 at approximately 1915 local time, privacy data omitted, while acting as a flight instructor, conducted a practice emergency engine out landing at Carroll County Regional Airport, Westminster, MD, (kdmw) with a private pilot rated student. When the private pilot rated student was not performing the maneuver adequately, privacy data omitted took control of the airplane on short final. During the attempted flare just prior to landing, they both heard a scraping sound. privacy data omitted Initiated a go around. Once at a safe altitude, privacy data omitted and the student assessed the situation and realized that the landing gear had not been lowered. Initially, they felt that they had scraped the tail tie down, not thinking they had also struck the prop. They decided to return to their home base at tipton airport, fort meade, MD (kfme). Once there and after an uneventful landing, they inspected the airplane to find that they had scraped the tail tie down and damaged the prop. This damage is considered minor.
