From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman and CFI were finishing a 2.5HR VFR refresher flight which included multiple landings at several small fields, both grass and paved, in the btv area. While rolling out after landing on btv rwy 15 a gust of wind caught the aircraft tail, swinging it around and causing the left wing tip and left elevator to contact the runway. The propeller did not contact the runway. Winds were mostly calm but with some occasional swirling gusts. The airman stated that he simply misjudged the control inputs and did not respond adequately. Neither of the two people on board was injured. The airman received clearance to taxi to the ramp and proceeded to taxi to park and tie down at the usual spot on alpha ramp.

As the FAA filed it
