From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 24, 2020, at approximately 0835 hrs mountain daylight time, a Maule model M-7-260 aircraft lost directional control and flipped over on landing roll out at Mile Hi us forest service strip (K10), approximately 48 NM NE of Mccall, Idaho. The aircraft was being operated on a 14 CFR part 91 personal flight at the time of the incident. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the wings, vertical stabilizer/rudder, and forward fuselage structure adjacent to the windshield. The PIC and sole occupant of the aircraft was uninjured in the incident and stated the aircraft bounced on touchdown due to excessive speed and flipped over at the top of the hill after application of maximum braking in an effort to avoid the treeline bordering the end of the usable landing surface. The 406 ELT activated and alerted afrcc. Idaho search and rescue was notified. The PIC used a portable GPS communication device to contact family and arrange recovery. A commercial airline relayed to atcc that an airplane was upside down on a grass strip.
