From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 0900 , N33LY, an experimental civil aircraft landed at Mile Hi airstrip (K10). During a preflight before the return flight the pilot noticed damage to the RH lower fuselage. Further inspection revealed major structural damage under the floor, door post, and the welded structure cluster. The pilot determined the aircraft was not airworthy and cancelled their return flight. The aircraft was airlifted to big creek airstrip, dissembled and trucked to a repair facility. Inspection of the aircraft determined significant structural damage due to corrosion/ rust in the aircraft's RH lower longeron, welding cluster and landing gear supports.
