From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

These cracks probably occurred over time as the nose gear was turned beyond the turn limits several times. The pilot stated that where he bases the airplane (gai) he keeps it in a community hangar that is operated by the local FBO. He stated that they use a long tow bar with a tug. He also stated that the FBO had just hired a new line person who was very young and has only been working there for about 3 months.
