From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Examination of the aircraft and crash site:

Aircraft crashed in a tree farm located south of the airport. Examination of the aircraft was done the morning after the crash at on August 2nd at 1055 am, the pilot and his dog died in the crash. A preliminary walk around the site revealed that there was no evidence of fire in the area after the impact and no smell of fuel was detected. The aircraft appears to have been in a level decent just above the tree line and banking right at a slight angle before it impacted the trees. The impact appears to be a sudden stoppage of the aircraft and the it appears to have tumbled down and flipped on its back and was facing north mangled in a couple of trees. The pilot with his dog was ejected from the cockpit and were found about 20 feet directly in front of the aircraft. The crash appears to be concentrated in a small arear about 50 feet in diameter. The area was extended an extra 20 feet in radius to look for additional aircraft parts but none were found beyond that point, the aircraft was destroyed. All the parts were picked up the next day and were sent to jacksonville, Florida for further investigation by the NTSB.
