From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated he flew from anchorage to his cabin located 50 miles se of lake minchumina. While landing at cabin strip on tundra, pilot stated he got a gust of wind 15-20 KTS from the right rear side of aircraft just before touch down. This caused the aircraft veer off course by 5-10 feet resulting in the left wheel contacting a slight depression. Pilot initiated correction but not in time to prevent the right wing tip from contacting the ground. The aircraft then ground looped and flipped onto its back. The pilot stated he did observe a wind sock at his cabin and was landing in most favorable direction.
