From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was departing the listed airport on runway 17. The PIC requested and was cleared for a climbing right hand turn to the west. The aircraft then lost power at approximately 400 ft AGL. The PIC lowered the nose & turned back to the runaway heading. The PIC then turned left and attempted a grass infield landing to the east of the runway. Upon initial contact the aircraft right hand MLG broke off and the left MLG collapsed. The aircraft slid on the grass infield and stopped short of the run up area / taxiway for runway 35.
