From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 30, 2020 the aircraft was performing glider tow operations. After releasing the gilder, the aircraft descended in a controlled spiral and crashed into a cornfield causing substantial damage to the airframe. Upon inspection. Inspection of the aircraft showed that the fuel tank contained little to no fuel. The prop showed no signs that the engine was running at the time of the crash. The pilot did not respond to multiple attempts to contact him for a response. Based on the available evidence it appears that the aircraft experienced fuel starvation.
