From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 15th, 2020 at 1336 MDT, a PA-46 aircraft, N596ST, with privacy data omitted as the pilot in command incurred an accident while landing on runway 35R at Centennial Airport (kapa). Winds reported at the time were 020 degrees at 6 gusting to 16 knots. Moments prior to touching down the aircraft encountered a wind shear which upset the aircraft to the right. Pilot overcorrected to the left with aileron, which resulted in the left wing striking the ground first. After the left wing struck the ground the aircraft came back through a level attitude and continued drifting to the right. The aircraft exited the right side of the runway and struck two taxiway signs and numerous runway lights. The aircraft re-entered the runway and taxied to the ramp normally.
