From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 24, 2020 at approximately 14:00 CDT, aircraft N3958A, a Beechcraft V35B, experienced a loss of power while enroute from propwash airport (16X) justin, TX to van zandt county airport (76F) wills point, TX. Aircraft impacted a tree line and came to rest upside down on the ground approximately 10 miles northeast of Terrell municipal airport (trl) Terrell, TX. Pilot sustained a minor injury and no passengers were aboard the aircraft. Aircraft was substantially damaged as evidenced by damage sustained to the wings from impacting trees. The right hand wing sustained damage on the outboard half of the wing appearing to crush the wing inboard and damage along the leading edge. The right hand wing also had a hole approximately 8 inches in diameter and located approximately 18 inches outboard of the right hand landing gear. The left wing sustained leading edge damage and a tree pierced and remained in the lower skin approximately 24 inches from the wing tip. Fuel was leaking from the right hand wing fuel cap and continued to leak after leaving the scene. Unable to determine fuel quantity due to position of the aircraft and the left wing fuel cell appeared to have been damaged by a tree. The propeller had two of the three blades buried approximately 2 to 3 inches in the ground. One of the two blades was bent aft approximately 10 degrees from middle of the blade to the tip. The blade remaining in the air did not appear to be damaged and only had a few scratches on the paint. This indicates the aircraft was not making power at the time of impact. All flight control surfaces were attached to the aircraft and continuity verified. Engine and propeller controls were all full forward and the fuel pump switch was in the ?off? Position. Fuel selector was positioned in the ?right tank? Position. Engine inspection has not been performed at this time. The NTSB intends to schedule and be present for the engine inspection at a later date. This report will be amended after completion of the engine inspection if any pertinent information is obtained.

As the FAA filed it
