What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On September 25, 2020, at approximately 2:30PM (EST), an instructor and student were conducting a dual, local instrument lesson flight under CFR part 141. The instructor explained that after they achieved full power for their initial takeoff roll on runway 32, the engine began to run abnormally rough. He said that something "just didn't feel quite right" with the engine, so he made the decision to abort the takeoff. He then notified ATC of the situation and ATC cleared them to taxiway c back to the Indiana state university (isu) ramp. The intructor said the engine ran smoothly on taxi back to the ramp. A few engine run-ups were performed by isu's chief pilot and he was not able to duplicate the engine issue.
