From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After landing during rollout, the aircraft began an un commanded veer to the left. The instructor pilot took control from the student and attempted to correct the condition and was unable. The aircraft ground looped with the left wing contacting the runway surface. No injuries sustained by the occupants. The left wing tip and left aileron sustained substantial damage. Upon inspection by the certificated flight instructor, the springs connecting the tail wheel to the rudder were missing and later found along the runway passed the touchdown point. Service difficulty report under consideration, will amend when determined. Service difficulty report number 2020FA0000536 submitted 12/15/2020.
