What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
N8436T was inbound to land runway 24 at ack. The ack lc observed N8436T lined up for taxiway e and issued go around instructions. The pilot described that he lost all visibility for a few moments and that "everything went white". N8436T did not respond to the go-around command and instead landed on taxiway e which was closed, striking a low barricade and sign with the right main gear and wing. The pilot then applied full power and took off again. The pilot noted that the sun was in his eyes. He was able to return for an uneventful second landing. Upon landing it was discovered that the right fuel tank had been compromised by the impact and had completely emptied of fuel (approx. 20 gallons)
