From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC operating slsa N601ES departed fairhope, al (cqf) at approximately 12:18 CST en route to brookhaven, MS (1R7). Total flight time estimated 1 hour 46 minutes. While at cruise/level flight about to descend to 1R7, the engine began to run erratic causing the Aircraft to suddenly lose power and altitude. The PIC initiated emergency landing procedures. The PIC landed the Aircraft in a cow pasture located at privacy data omitted. After landing the Aircraft's propeller and right wing struck a barbwire fence anchored with steel posts causing the Aircraft to spin around and settle in an open field. The Aircraft received damage to the right wing and left wing outer skin surfaces, propeller leading edge, lower engine cowling, nose landing gear, and right aileron upper surface. The PIC was the sole occupant on board the Aircraft. No injuries reported with the accident. Owner removed N601ES from the field on travel trailer truck.
