What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot in command (PIC) flew Mooney M20E (N9253V) from henderson, NV (khnd) to Long Beach, CA (klgb). The flight was conducted in day VFR conditions. The evolution was uneventful and the weather was clear with light winds. PIC flew a straight-in approach to runway 26R at klgb and touched down on or very near centerline in the designated touch down zone. The initial portion of the landing rollout was normal and straight ahead. As the aircraft decelerated through approximately 35 knots, the right main landing gear began to slowly collapse as indicated by the right wing drooping until the fixed air stair contacted the runway causing the aircraft to veer to the right. PIC secured the engine prior to the aircraft coming to a stop with the left main landing gear on the surface of the runway and the nose gear and partially collapsed right main landing gear in the dirt off the right side of the runway. The aircraft came to rest with the right outboard flap hinge and right wing tip in contact with the soft dirt on the side of the runway. Aircraft sustained minor damage. With assistance from Lgb base ops personnel the aircraft was safely moved to a tie down point.
