From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During VFR flight from kgad to kplr pilot stated he experienced engine failure during approach phase to the kplr airport at approximately 2000 ft MSL. Pilot stated after several failed attempts, the engine failed to restart. Note: striations at the point of initial touchdown would indicate the engine was under some power and the condition of the prop would further validate the prop was indeed turning) pilot descended through trees damaging the left wing leading edge and upon landing in the field the main gear collapsed. Closer inspection shown very little fuel in the right wing tank and none visible in the left wing tank.
