From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After landing during roll out the pilot reported, a gust of wind hit the plane from the nw side, and pushed the plane sharply to the left. The pilot attempted to correct with heavy right rudder but was unsuccessful in stopping the momentum. The left tire slipped off the edge of the runway. When the left tire made contact with the newly sodded turf, combined with the recent heavy rain; the tire sunk quickly. This rapid deceleration, and lower left tire, caused the rear of the plane to ?rise? And the propeller stuck the runway. With this motion, and the left tire being below the pavement, the plane pivoted to the left, and the left-wing tip struck the surface.

As the FAA filed it
