From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Two hours into the assigned pipeline route, the PIC and his observer found themselves in the vicinity of multiple flocks of birds approximately 5NM from Bay City Regional Airport (kbyy). After multiple attempts to avoid the unidentifiable avian, a collision occurred braking the upper portion of the aircrafts windshield. The PIC diverted to airport kbyy to assess the damage to the aircraft. An inspection revealed a dent to the left of the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer and a crease to the left upper face of the rudder were the only additional damage noted.
