What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot was attempting a landing on a glacier with deep snow pack with a ski equipped aircraft. Pilot made one pass as to "drag" the selected landing spot to check snow conditions and "lay a track" for future landing. Upon the second pass to "drag & pack snow", pilot let the aircraft descend too rapidly and upon impact with the snow, the front tips of the skis dug into the snow causing the aircraft to flip and come to rest inverted. Both pilot and passenger exited the aircraft with minor injuries.
