From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 04/04/2021, during departure from Juneau international airport (jnu) runway 08, passing through 1000', aircraft N552LM struck a bald eagle with the outboard section of the aircraft's right wing. Not knowing the extent of any possible damage, the flight crew terminated the flight, re-entered the pattern, and landed back at jnu without further incident. The right wing leading edge was damaged/dented (3" x 4" x 3/8" deep dent) including a portion of the right wing leading edge stall strip. Company coordinated with privacy data omitted for repair options, and the leading edge and stall strip will need to be repaired, potentially replaced, by an authorized lear repair facility. Company received operating limitations from privacy data omitted, and is applying for a special flight permit through their chdo (NM07) to fly aircraft to authorized lear repair facility. See sas activity AL05202100755 and office file for incident number IAL0520210003 for all additional details.
