From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft bounced during landing and the nose wheel fell off during touch down, runway 05. Spoke with ATC specialist who witnessed landing. He said he saw the aircraft bounce a few times within a 2000FT distance, and then when aircraft was barely moving and touched down on nosewheel, nosewheel departed aircraft. It is the opinion of the specialist, who is also a pilot, that while the aircraft bounced, it did not hit hard enough to cause any damage to the aircraft that was cause the nose wheel to come off aircraft. Inspected aircraft and believe stress on nosewheel over time is what caused it to depart from aircraft.
