From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The crew had ground power connected to the aircraft to run ac. The gpu was positioned in front of the left leading edge of the wing while in the non-movement area, with the power cable going underneath the fuselage to the receptacle in front of the right leading edge of the wing. After passengers were loaded and secured, the crew started both engines and hand signaled ground crew to remove gpu. privacy data omitted Did not communicate between one another and could not confirm signal from ground crew. SIC disengaged the parking brake and moved the aircraft forward to test the brakes and struck the gpu. Neither privacy data omitted verified gpu was removed with visual check. This was also not communicated. The privacy data omitted did not brief the situation on preflight when noting the odd location of gpu set up.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DID NOT COMMUNICATE BETWEEN ONE ANOTHER AND COULD NOT CONFIRM SIGNAL FROM GROUND CREW. SIC DISENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE AND MOVED THE AIRCRAFT FORWARD TO TEST THE BRAKES AND STRUCK THE GPU. NEITHER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ VERIFIED GPU WAS REMOVED WITH VISUAL CHECK. THIS WAS ALSO NOT COMMUNICATED. THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DID NOT BRIEF THE SITUATION ON PREFLIGHT WHEN NOTING THE ODD LOCATION OF GPU SET UP.
