From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

1. Description of the incident:investigated an "incident" involving N5DR a BE-55 baron. On may 28, 2021, at 2302Z the pilot was enroute from olive branch, MS to Holly Springs, MS (M41). While on a VFR approach, the left MLG indicated an unsafe condition. Attempts to get the landing gear to safe were unsuccessful. VFR approach to rwy 36 and landing. During the landing rollout the left MLG collapsed causing the aircraft to depart the paved runway. No injuries were reported. Examination of the aircraft revealed light damage to the left wing, flap, and the tail tie-down. It is believed the left MLG actuator rod end bearing failed preventing the landing gear from fully extending the over-center drag brace, allowing the landing gear to collapse.

4. Action taken to correct the problem and prevent reoccurrence: none.
